YouTube Content ID
How the identification of your music on YouTube is managed.
Content ID is YouTube's system that automatically identifies your music when it appears in other people's videos and monetizes it in your favor.
How it works in UXEM
When your music is distributed with Content ID enabled, YouTube registers a digital fingerprint of each recording. From then on, any video that uses that recording is detected and the ad revenue from that use is attributed to you.
Claims and conflicts
UXEM doesn't have a self-service claims panel. Specific cases — an incorrect claim on your video, one of your videos blocked by mistake, a legitimate use you want to release — are handled by the team manually.
If you spot a Content ID issue, contact us with the video link and a description.
What it doesn't cover
Content ID doesn't upload your videos or create your channel. For that, see VEVO and Official Artist Channel (OAC).
