How the split is calculated

The order of the calculation: UXEM's commission first, then each participant's percentage on the net.

Updated 1 day ago

A split is calculated on each of the release's royalty reports, in this order:

The steps

  1. Gross income — what that report generated for the release.
  2. Minus UXEM's commission — the release owner's plan percentage. This leaves the net.
  3. Each participant receives their percentage of that net.

In other words: the commission is applied before the split, not after.

Example

If a report generated 100, UXEM's commission takes its share, and the split percentages apply to what's left. A participant with 40% receives 40% of the net, not of the 100.

The percentage used is the one from the report's date

If you change a split's percentages over time, each report uses the percentage that was in effect on its date, not the current one. Old reports aren't recalculated.

If the total doesn't reach 100%

It's shared out according to the defined percentages. The unassigned part isn't distributed to anyone through the split.
