Release time and timezone

The release date sets the day; the time and timezone set the exact moment on that day when your music becomes available. You configure them in the same step, and they always work together.

Where to set it

In the release's Calendar step, Release Information section, next to the date:

• Release Time — the time of day. Default: 00:00 (midnight).
• Timezone — the reference for that time. Default: UTC. The field is searchable: type a city or region to find it.

What the time and timezone do together

UXEM combines all three values — date, time and timezone — into a single instant. For example, July 31, 2026 + 14:00 + Europe/Madrid defines one concrete moment, not a loose date.

That instant is the reference used to publish your music on the platforms, and it's what decides when your link stops being a pre-save and starts showing the listening buttons.

What happens if you keep the defaults

With 00:00 and UTC, your release goes live at midnight UTC on the release date.

For much of the Americas, that midnight UTC falls in the afternoon or evening of the day before. If you want a midnight premiere in your own country or your main audience's, change the timezone to that region and leave the time at 00:00.

Choosing the time and timezone

1. In Timezone, search for and select your main audience's zone (for example, America/Bogota).
2. In Release Time, enter the local premiere time. 00:00 is the standard choice, in the "New Music Friday" style.
3. Check that the combination makes sense: date + time + timezone are the target moment of the premiere.

Each store processes publication at its own pace, so the exact minute can vary slightly between platforms. The time and timezone are the target, not a to-the-second guarantee.

How it relates to the pre-save link

Before that instant, your link shows the pre-save (reservation) page. At the configured moment, the same link automatically switches to showing each platform's listening links.

If you change the time or timezone while the release is still editable, that change also moves the moment the link switches.

When these fields get locked

While the release is in Draft or Requires changes, you can edit the time and timezone freely.

Once you submit it for review, both fields are locked. To adjust them afterwards, contact support.

The release timezone is not your account timezone

Your account has its own timezone for displaying dates in the interface. The release Timezone is independent: it only defines that release's publication moment and doesn't change how you see the rest of the panel.
