Edit after submitting or publishing

What can be edited in each status after submission, and which fields are locked permanently.

Updated 2 days ago

What you can edit depends on the release's status.

In review or quality control

Not editable. The release is with the team; you have to wait for the outcome. If you spot an urgent error at this stage, contact us.

Requires changes

It becomes editable again. Fix what was flagged and resubmit. See When your release requires changes.

Distributed

You can edit, with two caveats:

  • When you save, the release stays distributed and your changes are held.
  • When you're done, click Submit for Review: the release goes back to In Review so the team can revalidate the changes before they reach the stores.

Stores take time to reflect approved changes.

Fields that stay locked

Even when the release is editable, these can't be changed once it's been submitted:

  • Release date, time and timezone.
  • ISRC (locked permanently after delivery).
  • Record label.

To change any of these, contact support.

Audio on a distributed release

Replacing the audio of an already-distributed recording is done through audio replacement (separate article).
