Replace the cover
How to replace a release's cover art in each status and what the new image must meet.
Updated
The cover is uploaded in the release's first step, the Cover Image field. Changing it means replacing that image.
By status
- Draft: upload the new image in its place. No further steps.
- Requires changes (cover rejected): replace it with one that meets the requirements and resubmit the release for review.
- Distributed: replace it and click Submit for Review. The change goes through review before reaching the stores, which take time to update the image.
Cover requirements
- Square, minimum 3000 × 3000 px, 1:1 ratio.
- No borders, frames, noticeable pixelation or blur.
- No store or platform logos.
- No URLs, phone numbers, emails or QR codes.
- No prices or promotional messages ("Out Now").
- No illegal, hateful or sexually explicit content.
- Text limited to the title and the artist.
- You must have the right to use the image (your own or licensed).
