Streams, listeners and downloads
What each term means and which of them actually appear in UXEM's analytics.
UXEM's analytics show two figures: streams and royalties. It helps to know what each term means and which is on your side and which is on the platform's.
Streams (units)
It's the number of uses that appears in the reports: streaming plays, downloads and other counted uses. On the page they're shown together as "Streams".
Royalties
It's the net income those uses generated, in US dollars (USD).
A song can have many streams and few royalties, or the other way around: the per-stream rate changes by platform, country and the listener's account type.
Downloads
They're counted within the units. The source report distinguishes the type of use (streaming, download, etc.), but the interface doesn't have a separate breakdown for downloads.
Listeners
This isn't a metric from UXEM's reports. "Monthly listeners" or "unique listeners" are data on each platform's side (Spotify for Artists, Apple Music for Artists…), not from the royalty report.
In UXEM you see units and income, not unique listeners.
