Availability by territory
How the territories you choose combine with each platform's coverage.
Where your release can be streamed or bought depends on two things at once: the territories you chose and which countries each platform operates in.
Your territories
In the territories step you choose Worldwide or a list of countries. That's your release's maximum coverage (see Choose territories).
Each platform's coverage
Within those territories, each platform only reaches the countries where it itself operates. Selecting a country doesn't guarantee presence in every store in that country.
That's why a "Worldwide" release can be on Spotify almost everywhere, but not on a download store that doesn't operate in certain regions.
Other differences by country
- The purchase price in download stores can vary by territory.
- Some platforms apply their own content or catalog restrictions depending on the country.
Changing territories
You can adjust the selection while the release is in Draft or Requires changes. On a distributed release, the change goes through a new review.
