Why timing differs by store

Why a release can appear on some platforms sooner than on others.

Updated 1 day ago

After approval, each platform processes the release at its own pace. So it's normal for it to appear on some stores sooner than others.

What it depends on

  • Each platform has its own processing time. Some publish in 1 or 2 days; others take several days more.
  • The delivery path. Some platforms receive music via a direct connection; others through intermediate aggregators, which adds steps.
  • Queues and ingestion windows. Many stores process in batches at specific times of day.
  • The platform's own review. Some run their own check before publishing.

What's normal

For a release to already be on Spotify or YouTube Music while it still isn't on a download store or a smaller service. A few days' difference between platforms isn't an error.

When to worry

If several days have passed since the release date and it still isn't on a specific platform, check If your release doesn't appear.
